Dear friends and lovers of our region,
Our company specialises in the organisation and implementation of regional adventure tours, guided tours, activities, company outings, family ventures and birthdays – according to the motto: “Discover our diverse region!”
We offer hiking tours, e-bike tours, cycling tours, boat tours and selected events.
Together with our participants, we are on the road in regions such as the Middle Rhine Valley, Rheinhessen, the Rheingau, in Rhineland-Palatinate, in the Odenwald and in urban regions such as Frankfurt, Bingen, Rüdesheim, Wiesbaden – to name but a few.
For our tour research, history and culture mediation, we work together with historians, biologists, geologists, forestry offices, city councils, tourist offices, museums, institutions and many more. At the same time, it is important to us to support and involve typical regional institutions and associations with our regional tours and activities: be it through cooperation with the local orchard association, a donation to NABU or the involvement of young winegrowers and innkeepers.
Why wander far and wide?
Discover places worth seeing and new perspectives wherever you are in our region – hiking, cycling or by boat.
Happened often enough and experienced again and again – tourists know better about our region than we, the locals. And they know exactly what is exciting and enjoyable for them. Often a place or an area or even a sight is known far beyond our borders for history, culture or as a regional speciality and we don’t really know anything about it. That is why we would like to invite you to get to know the beauty of our region “on the spot”.
“Memory – do you always want to ramble on? See, the good is so close. Only learn to grasp happiness, for happiness is always there.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)
The German poet Goethe and the Italian natural philosopher Bruno knew it even then – there is much to discover in our immediate surroundings that will make us humans grow beyond the everyday mundane!
“Behold then, we are above all envy, free from vain fear and foolish anxiety to seek the good afar, which we possess so near and immediate.” Giordano Bruno (1548-1600)
Our inspiration for tours…
…comes from the gut. We realise – this could be an exciting topic – we didn’t know this before and then we think about it until a concept emerges. Or we notice immediately that a piece of information could already be the theme of a tour. Then it’s time for the first step of research and later the elaboration of the theme tour. We often get ideas from newspaper or online articles. To a certain extent, we also do thematic scouting – comparable to a location scout for film shoots.
Questions that we can then answer better are, for:
Geysers? When did sewers start? Are there earthquakes in our area? How did wine come to our area? What is really going on with the small, glowing dots in June? How did Hildegard von Bingen become the most famous female figure of the Middle Ages? Where can I look at woollen bag weathering? Who were the Romantics – and what did they actually do as Romantics? Do trees and forests have a “history”? How do you find out which apple belongs to which variety? What do you know about orchids? How did green borders come into being as land protection? What makes our forest special? Are there dunes here? How old are the oldest trees? How can organic farmers control pests? Where did Goethe find inspiration in Wiesbaden? What enabled William Turner to create countless sketches and watercolours of the Middle Rhine Valley in a short time? How were apples cultivated? What is the significance of the 50th parallel for winegrowers? What does a forester do?
Many questions and the often astonishing answers to them are very close together.
Come along with us and discover culture, landscape, history and the extraordinary in your region!
Our tour guides
Katharina Bahn - Managing Directress
Living in Wiesbaden for more than 20 years, I have especially discovered regional hiking and cycling for myself, following the credo:
Discover our region! and therefore offer regional adventure tours and guided tours in the Rhine-Main area, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Franconia and the Neckar-Odenwald district – in cooperation with biologists, geologists, forestry offices, city councils, tourist offices and many other institutions and partners.
As a certified hiking guide by the Federation of Alpine Associations of Austria, I invite you to individually compiled tours on which you will learn about cultural, historical and current stories along the way – and thus get to know interesting and new things directly from your region or from your immediate surroundings.
I combine the scenic diversity of the trails, the richness of the experience and getting to know the regional products and gastronomy to provide entertainment and enjoyment while hiking and e-biking.
